Security Camera lenses are
the eye of the
cctv camera, they let the correct
amount reach the pickup
device and focus the image.
Just like your eyes
they have a iris which allows
the correct amount of light to
reach the camera and enable
it
to show a picture. Fixed
iris
lenses are ideal
for situations where the light
level is at a
constant level. Auto iris
lenses adjust automatically as
the surrounding light
levels change, just like yours
eyes do.
The Iris closes if there is too
much light and opens if there
is not enough.
Varifocal lenses allow for the
picture (field of view) to be
adjusted
manually at the time of
installation, zooming in closer
to get nearer to the subject
or zooming out further to see
a wider field of view.
Zoom lenses enable the
operator to adjust the field of
view via a control keyboard,
this can be from a remote
location away
from the camera itself, as and
when required.
